Book Description. The village of Faxton in Northamptonshire was only finally deserted in the second half of the 20th century. Shortly afterwards, between and , its medieval crofts were investigated under the direction of archaeologist Lawrence Butler.   It is a Grade II* listed building and stands on the west side of Church Street at the north end of the village. There was presumably a church at Sibbertoft by , when the Domesday Book records the presence of a priest there. The main structure of the present building was erected in the 13th and 14th centuries.
